Dr. Anne Penner is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who completed her general psychiatry residency and fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center before joining as faculty with the University of Colorado, Department of Psychiatry in 2015. She also works at Children’s Hospital Colorado focusing on medically and psychiatrically complex children and adolescents. Education and research have been major emphases of her work in the last two years, and she leads clinical operations for two neuroscience labs, including the Emotion and Development Lab and the Brain Alcohol Research Lab. She is also the Associate Program Director for the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship, helping to train between 5-7 new fellows every year.
Dr. Penner provides comprehensive evaluations for youth and families. She offers medication management, therapy recommendations, brief therapy encounters for the family and individual, and overall guidance and direction for one’s mental health journey. She particularly enjoys working with the school-age to young adult population.
