Alexis Giese, MD, is the director of Community Programs at the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Depression Center and Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Giese is a leader and innovator in improving healthcare delivery for under-served populations and is active in local and state health systems. Her current focus areas include improving depression identification and treatment in primary care, expanding integration of physical health and behavioral health services, and community dissemination of evidence-based behavioral health treatments.
Dr. Giese’s clinical expertise and practice focus on mood disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, adults, older adults, couples, and families. She provides person-centered, collaborative care that includes evaluation, consultation, medication treatment, and psychotherapy.
Giese is a member of the American College of Psychiatrists and is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
